Mrs. Perry 3d wife of Henry Randolph, No. 738 in Va cousins, was
descendant of Thomas Tinsley*, planter, a native of Yorkshire, England.

*The Tinsley Family. Thomas Tinsley, the ancestor of the prominent
Tinsley family of Virginia emigrated from Yorkshire in the latter part of
the seventeenth century, and settled in Hanover Co., Va. He was an
extensive planter; shipped tobacco to England, and imported thence
domestic luxuries and clothing. His will bears date Oct, 9, 1700. He
mentions wife Elizabeth, and children, Thomas, John, Cornelius, Alice,
