Mrs. Meeks died Saturday shortly before noon. Paralysis, coupled with uraemic poisoning caused her death. Her age was sixty years, eight months and sixteen days. She came to this county during the forties, and has lived here ever since except a few years in Illinois. Her first husband, James Dunn, died in 1865, and she was married in 1867 to Dye Meeks, who died a couple of years ago. She leaves two children, Rev. W. M. Dunn of Rosedale and R. H. Meeks of this county. The funeral was held Monday at the M.E. church, services there by Rev. A. J. Waller being followed by burial on the hill.

"The Murphys According to Fannie Graffis"
Early History by Hazel Kerk Murphy Wiesjahn
The author, Hazel, is the daughter of Nathan Archibald "Arch" Murphy and Mary E. "Mollie" Venard. She is the granddaughter of William Kerr Murphy and Sarah Elizabeth Slane; and the great granddaughter of Nathan Hunt Murphy and Martha Barbara Kerr.
AUNT MARTHA
Aunt Martha was not here very often. She had married young to James Dunn who soon died leaving one son Will. Aunt M brought him home to live with G.G. and Aunt Mary untill he was old enough to go to college. He worked his way through DePaw and became the only Methodist preacher in the family.
His mother remarried but did not live near the rest of the folks. She was small and had curly bangs.
One summer she came home to visit the relatives spending two or three weeks at each home. After she left we didnt hear anything about her untill her death.
