John Hancock's first wife, Martha Haywood, was born 7 November 1801 in Washington County, Indiana, and died 28 April 1839 in Harrison County, Indiana. John Hancock's second wife, Mary Kearns, was married first to William Jackson. Mary and William's oldest son, Thomas Kerns Jackson, married Mathew (John Hancock's brother) and Elizabeth Hooker Hancock's daughter, Rebecca Ann.
