Sarah was born in 1712 in East Haddam, Middlesex, CT.1 Sarah's father was Nathaniel Beckwith and her mother was Sarah Brockway. Her paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Beckwith and Martha Unknown; her maternal grandparents were Wolston Brockway and Hannah Briggs. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Job, Nathaniel, Stephen, Joseph, Jerusha and Patience. She was the third youngest of the seven children.-
