1 William FitzAlan's father was Alan FitzFlaald Baron Oswestry and his mother was Adeliza de Hesdin. His paternal grandparents were Flaald (Fledaldus) FitzAlan Baron St. Florent and Aveline de Hesdin; his maternal grandfather was Warine de Hesdin Sheriff of Shropshire. He was an only child.1
