Margie Koon
North Charleston - Services for Margie Swittenberg Koon, 73, will be held
at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Advent Lutheran Church, with burial in Carolina
Memorial Gardens. The Rev. J. Cantey Nye will officiate. The family
will receive friends 6-8 p.m. tonight at J. Henry Stuhr, North Area
Chapel, dorchester Road. Memorials may be made, if desired, to Advent
Lutheran Church, 3347 Rivers Ave., North Charleston 29405.
Mrs. Koon died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Roper Hospital. Born in Little
Mountain, she was a daughter of the late William David Swittenberg and
Eva Cannon Swittenberg. She was a homemaker and a member of Women of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert Roy Koon of North Charleston; sons,
Herbert Roy (Bert) Koon Jr. of Walterboro, James Luther Koon of Gastonia,
N.C.; brothers, Joe Swittenberg of Cayce, Linwood Swittenberg of
Columbia; sisters, Doris S. Amick of Columbia, Melva S. Graham of
Pomaria; five grandchildren.
