John L. Matthews
Little Mountain - John Loy Matthews, died suddenly at his home in Little
Mountain late Monday afternoon.
He was born in Lexington County but had made his home in Little Mountain
for a number of years.
He was a retired employe of Colonial, and a member of Holy Trinity
Lutheran Church. He was the son of the late Emma Mayer and Charlton
Sondley Matthews.
Survivinga re his widow, Annie Stoudemire Matthews; and one daughter,
Mrs. Alvin (Sadie) Sumalander of Little Mountain; and one sister, Mrs.
Elbert Counts Sr. of Prosperity.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday from Holy Trinity
Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery
The body will remain at McSwain Funeral Home and will be placed in the
church at 2 p.m. The family will be at the residence.
