Nk Carter 
Nk was born in 1886 in Luknow, India. Nk's father was Sir John Thomas Carter and her mother was Lady Ella Louisa Crossley Webb. Her maternal grandparents were Ephraim George Webb and Louisa Millar Crossley. She had six brothers named Tod, Ernest Albert John Webb, Louis Alfred Latimer Webb, Ion Hastings Webb, Desmond Patrick Webb and Brian Wolsey Webb. She was the third oldest of the seven children.-
