Samiilu-Zalman (born Şamă), known as Şamă, was born in 1819 in Kamenetz-Podolsk area.²

He died due to a medical problem, d.27 Elul 5649 (??), at the age of 70 on September 23rd, 1889 in Botoşani.  He was buried in September 1889 at the Jewish (old) Cemetery at RO(Botoşani).^3 4
