Ingvar was born in 1908.  Ingvar's father was Karl Sternberg.  His paternal grandparents were Carl Larsson and Johanna Jonsdotter. He had two brothers and a sister, named Sven, Sten and Märta .  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 77 in 1985.
