Stanisław was born on December 7th, 1935 in Zarogów and his christening took place in Nasiechowice, Poland conducted by the priest.1   Stanisław's father was Serafin Manterys and his mother was Celestyna Manterys (Piwowarczyk).  His paternal grandparents were Marcin Manterys and Wiktoria Manterys (Dziura); his maternal grandparents were Wojciech Piwowarczyk and Joanna Piwowarczyk (Suchta). He had a brother and four sisters, named Edward, Rozalia, Krystyna, Anna and Stefania.
