Simon Petrus was born on June 6th, 1890 in Malmesbury. Simon Petrus' father was Jacobus Adrijan Rozier van Blerk and his mother was Rachel Johanna Zeeman (van Blerk). His paternal grandparents were Simon Petrus van Blerk and Jacomina Hendrina Louw (van Blerk); his maternal grandparents were Pieter Zeeman and Rachel (Zeeman). He had five brothers and six sisters, named Pieter Gerhadus Louw, Jacobus Adriaan Rozier, Johannes, Jan Albertus, Gabriel, Rachel Johanna, Jacomina Hendrina, Johanna Petronella, Hester Jacoba, Christina Koth-Thomsen and Maria Susanna. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 60 on August 28th, 1950 in Strand. He was buried in Malmesbury, Old cemetery.
