Philip Petrus was born on July 31st, 1892.  Philip Petrus' father was Simon Petrus van Blerk and his mother was Anna Margaretha van der Merwe (van Blerk).  His paternal grandparents were Johannes Petrus van Blerk and Geertruida Elizabeth Louw (van Blerk). He had a brother and a sister, named Nicolaas Philip and Hester Magdalena. He had five half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Jacobus Adrijan Rozier, Simon Petrus, Petrus Gerhardus Louw, Jan Albertus, Gerhadus, Johanna Petronella, Jacomina Aletta, Anna Magrita, Cornelia Johanna Jacoba, Martha Berrenda, Catharina Christina and Ragel Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 74 on January 22nd, 1967 in Pretoria Hospital, Pretoria.
