He had five brothers and seven sisters, named Rogier Bernadus, Cornelius Johannes Hendrik, Jan Hendrik, Fredrick Johannes, Bastiaan Hendrik, Johanna Elizabeth, Cina Hendrina, Hedter Carolina, Rachel Louisa, Martha Magdalena, Anna Jacoba and Hester Cecila.
