Maria Elizabeth Magdalena was born on September 29th, 1850. Maria Elizabeth Magdalena's father was Bastiaan Pieter Everhadus van Blerk and her mother was Anna Catharina Phillippina Soekoe (van Blerk). Her paternal grandparents were Rogier Bernhadus van Blerk and Martha Basina Dorothea van de Kaap; her maternal grandparents were Johannes Paulas Soekoe and Maria Elizabeth Magdalena Smit (Soekoe). She had five brothers and a sister, named Rogier Bernhadus, Johannes Paulus, Bastiaan Pieter Everhadus, Charles Carl, Bastiaan Rozier William and Bastina Dorothea. She was the oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 72 in 1922.General Notes
