Magdelena Johanna van Blerk (Malan) 
Magdelena Johanna was born on May 7th, 1848 in Paarl. Magdelena Johanna's father was Albertus Daniel Johannes van Blerk and her mother was Margaretha Magdalena Nieuwoudt (van Blerk). Her paternal grandparents were Johannes Petrus van Blerk and Geertruida Elizabeth Louw (van Blerk); her maternal grandparents were Gerrit Nieuwoudt and Gertrude (Nieuwoudt). She had six brothers and four sisters, named Johannes Pretus Isaak, Gerrit Nieuwoudt, Albertus Daniel Johannes, Isaak Christiaan, Jacobus Johannes, Nicolaas Willem, Gertruida Elizabeth, Margaritha Magdalena, Margaretha Berrendina and Aletta Hendrina Henrietta. She was the second oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 35 on May 26th, 1883. She was buried in Paarl, NG Strooidakkerk, church yard.General Notes
