Jacobus Rogier van Blerk 
Jacobus Rogier was born on June 19th, 1796 in Stellenbosch. Jacobus Rogier's father was Simon Petrus van Blerk and his mother was Anna Margaretha Bremicker (van Blerk). His paternal grandparents were Nicolaas van Blerk and Catharina Maria Magetski; his maternal grandparents were Johann Christian Bremicker and Jacoba Petronella Vastenouw (Bremicker). He had two sisters named Christina Catharina and Anna Hendrika. He was the oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Nicolaas, Johannes Petrus, Johanna Margaretha, Christina Marthina, Catharina Margaretha and Johanna Petronella. He died at the age of 68 on January 7th, 1865 in Paarl.-
