Francois Petrus' father was Francois Petrus van Blerk and his mother was Susanna Elizabeth van der Merwe (van Blerk). His paternal grandparents were Francois Petrus van Blerk and Carolina Johanna Barnadita Vorster (van Blerk); his maternal grandparents were Christiaan Hendrik van der Merwe and Maria Elisabeth (van der Merwe). He had four brothers and a sister, named Christiaan Hendrik Gerrit, Pieter Hendrik Jacobus, Izak Jacob Joubert, Lukas Ceylon Ebenhaëzer and Maria Elizabeth. He died on May 10th, 1946. He was buried in Fouriesburg, Main cemetery.-
