Anna Hendrika was born on June 19th, 1803 in Stellenbosch.  Anna Hendrika's father was Simon Petrus van Blerk and her mother was Anna Margaretha Bremicker (van Blerk).  Her paternal grandparents were Nicolaas van Blerk and Catharina Maria Magetski; her maternal grandparents were Johann Christian Bremicker and Jacoba Petronella Vastenouw (Bremicker). She had a brother and a sister, named Jacobus Rogier and Christina Catharina.  She was the youngest of the three children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Nicolaas, Johannes Petrus, Johanna Margaretha, Christina Marthina, Catharina Margaretha and Johanna Petronella.  She died at the age of 32 on June 22nd, 1835.
