Nicolaas Francois was born in 1859 in Fauresmith.  Nicolaas Francois' father was Nicolaas Francois Pretorius and his mother was Martha Susanna van der Merwe (Pretorius).  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 39 on July 8th, 1898 in Fauresmith.
