Lieut David Reid Carpenter 
David Reid was born on January 23rd, 1893. David Reid's father was Major Robert Carpenter and his mother was Louisa Catherina Gaberlina van Blerk (Carpenter). His paternal grandparents were Robert Carpenter and Eliza Poick (Carpenter); his maternal grandparents were Simon Petrus van Blerk and Mathilda Amelia Allsop (van Blerk). He had five brothers and three sisters, named Archibald Robert, Ronald William, George Goodwin, Albert Edward, Ernest Edward, Margaretha Matilda, Amelia Eliza and Beatrice. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 22 on May 10th, 1915.General Notes
Killed in Gallipoli, Italy World War I.
