Beatrice Carpenter 
Beatrice was born in 1886. Beatrice's father was Major Robert Carpenter and her mother was Louisa Catherina Gaberlina van Blerk (Carpenter). Her paternal grandparents were Robert Carpenter and Eliza Poick (Carpenter); her maternal grandparents were Simon Petrus van Blerk and Mathilda Amelia Allsop (van Blerk). She had six brothers and two sisters, named Archibald Robert, Ronald William, George Goodwin, Albert Edward, Ernest Edward, David Reid, Margaretha Matilda and Amelia Eliza. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
