Anna Jacoba's father was Lewis Daniel Blom and her mother was Hester Cecila van Blerk (Blom). Her maternal grandparents were Marthinus Samuel van Blerk and Elizabeth Susanna Johanna Frylinck (van Blerk). She had two brothers and five sisters, named Marthinus Samuel, Lewis Daniel, Elizabeth Johanna Susanna, Hester Eliza, Johaana Elizabeth, Hester Ceciia and Magdelena Maria.-
