Duarte de Torres

Duarte was born in 1610. He died at the age of 37 in 1647.

General Notes
- Liebman, Jews of New Spain, p. 256, states that he was married to a mestiza in New Spain, while having a wife back in Spain. He came to confess of his own will after finding out some of his relatives in Portugal had imprisoned by the Inquisition, to see if he had been denounced. Refused to admit that he had judaized. He tried to escape the Inquisition with a group of Jews a few days before.
