  • p. 86-7.  His father was born in Lima,, which meant he emigrated to Portugal later.  Birthplace:  San Salvador de Laens, 55 leagues north of Lisbon.  He, like most of the judaizers, wore new clothing on Yom Kippur or the "Great Day."  HE was an illiegitimate son of new Christians.  Although he was a New Christian, he gave money "so that fasts would be made in the name of the famous dogmatist"  Blanca Rodriguez, p. 87.  He prevented his slaves from being baptized and refudsed them the Sacraments.  Although it does not mention if he is a merchant, the fact that they fined him 6,000 gold ducados strongly suggests it.  Also, he owned slaves, and did not permit them to be baptized.
