  • His house had been a way station for many Jews coming into the New Spain for over 40 years.  Originally a slave agent.  His wife, Doña Blanca Enríquez, had already been jailed for judaizing.   His sons, Rodrigo Fernández Correa and Gerónimo Fernández Correa were also in the auto of 1647.  Father-in-law to Tomás Méndez.  He wanted his boys to become doctors. He, his wife, and children never went to mass.  Liebman in The Jews of New Spain, p. 256, say that he was the leader of the Jewish community in Veracruz.
