Ana Núñez

Ana was born in 1635 in Mexico City. Ana's father was Duarte de León Jaramillo (Xaramillo) and her mother was Isabel Núñez. Her paternal grandparents are Francisco Antúnez and Doña Antonia Núñez; her maternal grandfather is Francisco Núñez (alias Rodriguez) and her maternal grandmother was Justa Méndez. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Francisco, Simón, Jorge, Clara and Antonia. She died at the age of 13 in 1648 in Mexico City.

- 227-8. doncella. Her parents reduced her to judaism at 7 years old. Parents--Duarte de León Jaramillo and Isabel Núñez. Prayed to Moses in the style of Padre Nuestro because she did not know any Jewish prayers. Her father beat her with horse reins for her bastardized prayer. Supposedly, she was victim to a "female circumcision" where her father and brother took a piece of flesh "de buen tamaño," off of her shoulder and ate it. Siblings, Francisco de León and Antonia Núñez. She said she was greatly relieved to be free to act as a Catholic.
