Isabel Duarte (la de Antúnez)

Isabel was born in 1605 in Seville. Isabel's father is Marcos Rodríguez (Tristan) and her mother was Doña Ana Enríquez. Her paternal grandparents are Manuel Tristan and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents are Diego López and Clara Enríquez. She was an only child. She died at the age of 41 in 1646 in Mexico City.

General Notes
- She was a "sumamente ayunadora" (consumate faster) for other people, receiving a real de a ocho from those who asked her to fast in their stead for each fast performed. She blessed jewish children in a Jewish ways and was said to have a pact with the devil by other Jews. "When another Jew asked her why she did not communicate with a certain female member of her kin, she replied that she [her relative] had become a nun, a very bad state to them [the Jews] that they applied to those whom it was impossible to reduce to Judaism." She informed other crypto-Jews how to fool interrigators and to get freedom, according to a Jewish doctor in Seville, by fiegning insanity. Mother of Manuel Antúnez. Known as a gambler, or jugadora.
