Baltasar Díaz Santillan

Baltasar was born in 1610 in Casteloblanco. Baltasar's father is Pedro Díaz Santillan. His paternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>. He had a brother named El Chato. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 39 in 1649 in Mexico City.

General Notes
- p. 94-5. HE was a cajonero in the Plaza Mayor. Both his parents were from Casteloblanco, and were tenant farmers. Related by marriage through Pereiera to most of the Judaizers tried in 1649. Indeed, "he was such a good Jew that...Ana Gomez and Tomas Treviño de Sobremonte...married him to Ines Pereira, the daughter of Ana Gomez [and the neice of Treviño de Sobremonte]." p. 95. Judaized at age 18. "His store was like an academy, [where] other Judaizers came...to discuss their dead law." (ibid). It was believed Pereira's child, when born, was to become the Messiah
