Rufas Symonds Spinney

Rufas was born on August 31st, 1854 in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia. Rufas' father was Edward Spinney and his mother is Lydia Symonds. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Spinney and Desire Crowell. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Angus, Bowman, Asenath, Emily, Louisa, Laura, Lydia, Bessie, Lalia and Minerva. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 20 in October 1874 in At sea.

- Rufas was lost at sea aboard the dory, William V. Hutchings.
