George A. Spinney

George was born in 1838. George's father was Benjamin Spinney and his mother was Mary Pettegrew. His paternal grandparents were John Spinney and Eunice Pettegrew; his maternal grandparents are Samuel Pettegrew and Olive Welch. He had a brother and a sister, named Albert and Lucy. He was the youngest of the three children. He died as a war casualty at the age of 25 on June 29th, 1863 in Aldie, Virginia.

General Notes
- George was a carpenter of South Boston, Massachusetts. He enlisted as a private on September 21, 1861 at the age of 23. He served with the Massachusetts D Company, 1st Cavalry Regiment. He was killed in action.
