Charlotte was born on July 7th, 1851 in Harmony, Queens County, Nova Scotia.  Charlotte's father was Austin Welton Spinney and her mother was Elizabeth Jane Morse.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Beach Spinney and Ann G. Crocker; her maternal grandfather is Jonathan Morse and her maternal grandmother was Elizabeth (Eliza) Spinney. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Jacob, Jonathan, Austin, Caleb, Joshua, Elizabeth, Ann, Zilpha, Minnie, Eunice and Ida.  She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 1 on March 3rd, 1853 in Harmony, Queens County, Nova Scotia.
