    Obituary: Berlin - Mary A. (Lawrence) Spinney, 78, of 135 Pleasant St. died Saturday in Oakdale Nursing Home, Oakdale, after an illness.
    Her husband, Seaward S. Spinney Sr., died Feb. 10. She leaves a son, Seaward S. Spinney Jr. of Berlin; three daughters, Rose M. Sawyer and Eunice Hoban, both of Berlin, and Rita Morris of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
    She was born in West Acton, daughter of William and Lena (Dufour) Lawrence, and lived here 40 years. She worked for several years in the library at Ann Maria College in Paxton. Mrs. Spinney was a founding member of St. Joseph the Good Provider Church and was its organist for many years.
    She was a member of its Women's Club, the Berlin Tuesday Club and the Berlin Grange.
    The funeral will be held Saturday from Robert J. McNally Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph the Good Provider Church, 52 West St. Burial will be in South Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Berlin Rescue Squad, care of Andrew Munter, 11 South St., Berlin 01503.
