John Gayton

John was born on October 15th, 1815 in Argyle, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia. John's father was Thomas Gayton and his mother was Anne Spinney. His maternal grandparents were Isaac Spinney and Eunice Frost. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, James, Daniel, Jerimiah, Eunice, Elonor and Lydia.

General Notes
- John Gayton, son of Thomas Gayton married Abigail Smith, daughter of Thomas K. of Barrington, in February of 1843. He then followed, with their family, Reverend Knowles to a new settlement (Knowlesville) and settled there. They both died there, where their remains still lie in the church graveyard. John died between 1858 and 1867.
