John M. Dow

John was born in September 1844 in New Hampton, Belknap County, New Hampshire. John's father was Perrin B. Dow and his mother was Ruth B. Huckins. His paternal grandparents were Peter Dow and Mary Ann Prescott. He had three brothers and a sister, named George, Rufus, Charles and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died as a war casualty, Complications to suffered wounds, at the age of 19 on April 19th, 1864 in Washington, District of Columbia.
