Charles Warren Dow

Charles was born on February 3rd, 1855 in New Hampton, Belknap County, New Hampshire. Charles' father was Stephen Bean Dow and his mother was Frances Maria Harris. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Dow and Harriet Sanborn; his maternal grandparents are Rufus Harris and Lucy Sanborn. He had four brothers and a sister, named William, Stephen, Walter, Edward and Hattie. He was the oldest of the six children.

General Notes
- Charles was a resident of Chicago, Illinois in 1923. At 17 he went to Zanzibar as a clerk for a New York importing house, he stayed for three years. He went to Bombay for the same house, then to New Zealand. He returned to La Crosse, Wisconsin. In 1921 he was the manager for R. G. Dun & Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
