    Elsie L. Donnelly
    Newburyport -- Elsie L. (Blackburn) (Spinney) Donnelly, formerly of Methuen and Salem, N.H., passed away Monday, January 21, 2002 at Port Nursing Home in Newburyport, where she had been a resident for several years.
    Elsie was the widow of Raymond Spinney and later married Edward L. Donnelly, who died in 1996.
    Elsie worked at the Ayer Mills in the drawing room for many years. Elsie was an artist who studied with Carl Pennisi. She was a member of several artist associations and exhibited her paintings throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
    She and her late husband, Edward, were avid sailing partners and were members of the Lake Massabesic Yacht Club, and competed in numerous races in New Hampshire and Florida.
    Elsie is survived by her daughters Virginia (Spinney) and her husband, Harry J. McKenna, of Seabrook Beach, N.H., and Tralee (Donnelly) and her husband, John Chatalian, of Marlboro; sister Florence Spinney of Wakefield, R.I.; granddaughter Erin L. (McKenna) Stroup of Seabrook Beach; grandsons Brian and Jeffrey Chatalian of Marlboro; and several nieces and nephews.
    There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be in the spring at Star of the Sea Church in Salisbury. Arrangements are by the Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen.
