Abigail was born on October 2nd, 1861 in Annapolis, Nova Scotia.  Abigail's father was Milledge Chipman Armstrong and her mother was Matilda Salome Spinney.  Her paternal grandparents are Walter Armstrong and Eliza Bishop; her maternal grandparents were James B. Spinney and Leticia Wheelock. She had four brothers and six sisters, named William, Wheelock, Wheelock, Milledge, Letitia, Arbelle, Margaret, Sarah, Winfred and Minnie.  She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  She died at 9 months old on July 12th, 1862 in Annapolis, Nova Scotia.
