Martha Jane Gammon

Martha Jane was born on February 28th, 1861 in Leon, Decatur, Iowa, United States.¹ Martha Jane's father was James Wilkenson Gammon and her mother was Armilda Eliza Myers. Her paternal grandparents were Dozier Brawner Gammon and Lavina Letitia Turbeville; her maternal grandparents are Thomas Myers and Jane. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Lewis Larue, Newton Franklin, Eugene Theophilus, Bird Lafayette, Willis Wilkerson, Dozier Gaines, Charles Thomas, Lucius, Lydia Josephine and Catharine Melvina. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 82 on February 19th, 1944 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States.
