Philip Thomas 
Philip was born in 1896 in Pontardawe. Philip's father was David Thomas and his mother was Elizabeth. His paternal grandparents were David Thomas and Ann Williams. He had six brothers and a sister, named Owen, Arthur, Wyndham, David, Mervyn, Samuel and Annie. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named Roger.
