Maria, known as Minnie, was born in 1858 in West Pennard, Somerset, England.1  Minnie's father was William  RUGG and her mother was Eleanor  (Ellen) MAIDMENT .  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel  RUGG and Elizabeth ; her maternal grandparents were George   MAIDMENT and Sarah  CREED.  She had a brother and nine sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named William, Maria , Nellie, Elizabeth, Ann, Emma, Susan, Fanny, Sarah , Lucy, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.
