Ernest was born on April 8th, 1868 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England.1   Ernest's father is William Edward KIRBY and his mother is Alice HAILSTONE.  He had three brothers and two sisters, named Arthur, Charles, Henry, Clara and Kate.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 81 on March 18th, 1950.
