Eliza was born in 1857 in Banwell, Somerset, England. Eliza's father was Elijah COURT and her mother was Mary BROOKES.  Her paternal grandparents were Elijah COURT and Jane.  She had two brothers and two sisters, named Elijah, Samuel , Mary and Alice.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
