Josias  was born in 1821 in Kewstoke, Somerset, England. Josias 's father was Elijah COURT and his mother was Jane.  He had three brothers and four sisters, named Jonas, James , Elijah, Betsy, Eliza, Anna and Louisa.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
