Walter was born in 1886.  Walter's father was Aaron CALVER and his mother was Ellen GAUDBY .  His paternal grandparents were Robert CALVER and Anna Maria.  He had six brothers and two sisters, named Frederick, Arthur, Robert, George, Ernest , William, Alice and Harriet.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.
