John was born on April 8th, 1659 in Longmeadow, Hampden, Massachusetts.  John's father was George COLTON and his mother was Deborah Or Goodner GARDNER GOODNER.  His maternal grandparents are John GARDNER and Mrs Mary GARDNER. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Isaac, Ephriam, Mary, Thomas, Benjamin, Mary Or Mercy, Mrs Deliverance, Sarah, Deborah and Hepzebah.  He was the tenth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 67 on February 3rd, 1727 in Springfield, Hampden, Ma.
