Anna's father was Philip Jacob Kolb (He was born Johann Philip Jacob Kolb, but his first name was not used when he immagrated to Halifax, NS, Canada, the exact year is unknown.) and her mother was Mary Magdalena Kolb (Maiden Name: Schluter). Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Andreas Kolb and Maria Barbra Magdalena Kolb (Maiden Name: Fetzen).
