John Cruickshank

John was born in 1726 and his baptism took place on July 3rd, 1726 in Elgin, Scotland. John's father was James Cruickshank and his mother was Janet Murdoch. He was an only child.

- Source Lesley Young: Prior to that generation are Peter Crookshanks of Bellachraggan married Elizabeth Brown with sons Charles born 29th August, 1756 and Robert, born 29th May, 1750. and the only other Cruickshanks are: John Cruickshanks of Hill of Edinvail born 1726 married to Catherine Hossack (b.1746) this is the second wife as previous wife was Margaret Harrold. From first marriage daughter Margaret Cruickshanks who married David Philip of Brakery. From second marriage - Jane born 1760 and John (Junior) born 1767. It would be worthwhile looking at this Volume to track the later generations.
