Anna was born in June 1876.  Anna's father was Jaan Volmer and her mother was Mall Volmer (Rekand).  Her paternal grandmother was Anu Volmer. She had a brother and five sisters, named Hans, Katri, Liis, Lilli, Miili and Juuli.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children. She had two half-sisters named Salme and Rosalie.  She died at the age of 53 in 1929.
