August was born in 1884.  August's father was Mats Parts and his mother was Ann Parts (Sööt).  His paternal grandparents were Jaan Parts and Liis Parts (Kõrge). He had six brothers and a sister, named Mihkel, Peeter, Ado, Juhan, Jaan, Julius and Liis.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 11 in 1895.
